i got a text saying my minutes have loaded and i was still getting charged for calls at the weekend, i went into the o2 shop and they rang the headoffice thing, and the man on the phone said that if you here a wisper saying you are in the zone the call is free and if you dont it will charge. I didnt think this was true but thats what they said at the shop
Things that are free in life are great, well most of the time

Looking at the T&C, it would seem that if you are on Pay&Go Online(300 free texts ones) then you still need to pay the 25p for the first 3 mins? Thus 75p per day, but there after the rest of the mins are free under this promotion? Hmm...anyone want to confirm that I read it right?

This is the PAYG Tarriff I am on & I used my phone both on Saturday & Monday to call my sister on O2, approx 20 minutes in total & I wasn't charged anything. HTH.

I have looked over the t&c and it mentiones free calls for 2 months. Do I have to opt out after 2 months or does it stop automaticaly.

I can't find anything about needing to opt out.
  • I've signed up for this offer, and am now wondering whether I should cancel my Calls 50 bolt on for the time being?? It states in the T&C that minutes used over the weekend will be deducted first from the free 500 weekend calls. I don't use my mobile much for calls anyway.

Another o 2 confusing offer. But if you are on the talkalot more tarriff and alsready get 300 free mins at weekens and decide to go for this offer, you will now get 500 mins but have to pay for the first 3 mins. Is that correct?

thanx 4 freebeee, i notice it says 'WEEKEND' but on the TnC it says 'WEEKENDS', but both seem to work as keywords, im a little confused as to what part of the postcode is within the 'home postcode'.... see i live in postcode CH65 9AL where my girlfriend lives in CH65 6PU, will i be able to ring from her house as part of the free 500 mins? would 'they' be able to tell that i rang 200 yards down the road? any advice would be helpfull
It's nice to be important but it's important to be nice!

If u think my post has been helpful, push my 'thanks' button cheers :)

no what that means is the 1st 3 minutes to lower your call charges to 5p, you cant do this unless your ring a 08 number
  • Hi
I have just called 02 with regards to this off and just to clarify it will not overide free texts however calls will only be free from your stated postode eg I am B34 6PN I asked if this covers the whole of B34 and was told no only if you are in the B34 6PN postcode which to my daughter means shewill only get the free calls on our side of the road (the opposite side is a differnt postcode) however the gentleman told me when you dial you should get a voice prompt saying WHISPER,LONG WEEKEND or WEEKEND WHISPER after you have dialled and before the call starts ringing.
This will only apply for 2 months from registration then stops automatically you do not have to opt out.
Hope this helps and thanks for the original thread
