Good morning!
Not many plans today as my Mum is coming down for the first time since her operation 2 weeks ago :T She's feeling much better now and is desperate to get out of the house for a few hours
Noy many plans apart from that really. Saturday is our soup night so we're having spicy lentil with HM soda bread followed by fruit salad & ice cream. Lunch will be beans on toast I think. The children have all gone out already - DD & DS1 collecting their EMA money from the bank & DS2 & DS3 to Marks & Spencers to get a free Percy Jackson book that had a voucher in The Times :money:
Susie Labrador was accident free this morning thankfully. I starved her yesterday and hopefully whatever it was has burned out of her system now. She's had breakfast already and looks raring to go - out for a walk that is :rotfl:
We don't 'do' valentines day I get annoyed at the over priced things on sale & the hype. Good to see OSers baking, cooking meals & buying flowers at a good price
Have a good day everyone & wrap up warm it's freezing out there xxx0 -
Good morning guys,
Another week gone, where does it go?
Washing is done, drying in progress, house tidy and the next job is to make some butties for a walk around the Gt Orme later. It's 5 miles not counting the journey there and back but I am really looking forward to it and as a plus the kids should be shattered when we get home. :T:T I also have a small piece of lamb in the SC with carrots, swede, 1 dead/dying parsnip;) and potatoes and we will have that with some stuffing, peas and broccoli and make the gravy from the juices in the crock pot so really looking forward to that too when we get back.
Not much else to do today, I may do some ironing later but there is no rush for the uniforms, however I am still being good and haven't seen Mt. Everest for a while in the utility so will probably do it.
The healthy eating I started in the New Year is having an effect and to date I have lost 9 lbs so I am very pleased with this, I am starting to feel more energetic too which is good. There is a long way to go yet but I am hoping with more energy I can get the loss up to 2lb a week and by next New Year be slim.......... Watch this space.:D I do miss my hm chips though and meat pies, fortunately I don't do chocolate so that isn't a problem as there is always some in for the kids LOL.
Hugs to all in need today and I hope you all have a good day.

Morning all!
Will be a deal of OS tidying and cleaning going on today before the kids set out to destroy the house next week! Got to go and collect dd3 in a bit from a party sleepover, and then going to choose some tiles. Plan is to get the utility, kitchen and downstairs loo all done next week, the loo and the utility actually need new floors, not just tiling, so quite a bit of upheavel! The kids were due to go away with their dad, which is why I'd planned it for half term, but apparently he is too busy now! On the bright side I shall have extra pairs of hands if needed, on the down side it'll be a pain trying to cook for them whilst the floor is up! I'm sure Nick Knowles doesn't have to work under these conditions lol!
Right best get a wiggle on, no idea about food as the menu plan is downstairs, but lunch will be leftover lasagne from last night for the kids - finally used up the last of the Christmas turkey!
Hope everyone has a good day, hugs where needed xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Morning/Afternoon (dependent on when I click 'Submit Reply' lol) everyone!
Diva- BH and I agreed a few years back that we would not 'do' Valentines Day, but I did have a glance at the £5 roses at Tesco yesterday and almost bought myself a bunch, they really were lovely- I was surprised!
jc2703- Awww....I think that's lovely re: the card, we feel the same way here and have said that we don't love each other any less the rest of the year just because it's not V. Day . . . . and now refuse to participate and line someone else's pockets :rotfl:
Hester- Best watch it with that last WOO HOO - don't want you to pull a muscle
Glad things are working out for your Hubby, hope they continue to go well.
taplady- I use the BM regularly, but do buy the occasional loaf or rolls. I think it does save a bit of money, and am sure of what's going in the loaves/rolls.
Noah's PM- Great news for DS, you must be so happy! :j Amazing how a bit of positivity can lead to even more . . . .
All quiet here today, BH and I are both at the kitchen table with our respective puters . . . Ah, quality together time :rotfl: I've got a cake I want to try out of the Mary Berry book and am thinking about getting some dough going in the BM for rolls. Other than that we'll just roll on with the day and see what happens!0 -
Got back from picking up my storage unit. It's wicked :T Two toy boxes worth of toys now nearly put into separate trays - nice and tidy (oops the OCD is kicking in
). Its an Ikea one and normally retails for £79 including the trays - I paid £35 for this and just had to pick it up from other side of Brum - bargain
Just having 5 mins before picking kids up and heading off to party this afternoon.
NPM - Moi? Show off about kids sleeping through.....nooooooooooo
Well done to Noah :T:T:T Proud Mummy Moment for you xx
Taplady - I am at the moment going up to Mr S and picking up the reduced bread - at a cost of around 50p per loaf (which tends to be bigger than my home made size) it's slightly cheaper. Plus I now have my massive freezer so have the space to do this. And I don't have the faff of making sure I remember to put BM and at a time whereby I am sitting up late waiting for it to go off (yeah mine has a timer function but I am too tired at the end of the day to work out how to use it!).I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

I'm at eternal lurker so thought it was about time to post and say hello! Hello everyone!
I'm having a good OS day today. Lots and lots of tidying- I share a room in a student house with my boyfriend and it was a state. I have a dissertation to write over the next few weeks so I needed a good clean to have the space to work. Also want to clean the bathrooms.
Later going to make some lemon drizzle cake, banana muffins and gingerbread biscuits. Might go out for a couple of drinks later or might stay in and catch up on work.
Tomorrow, me and the boy are having a quite Valentines. I've never done anything for it so looking forward to getting some flowers and having a lovely dinner. Planning calamari to start and then steak with hm wedges. All washed down with wine. We're also planning to brew our first beer, starting tomorrow which is very exciting.
Anyway, hope everyone has a lovely day!December GC £23.43/120 :T

Lunch today is leftovers from mothers do prawns, quiche, pasta salad and potato salad. Been invited to my friends for tea and she is a fab cook so will be something nice. A bit of a free day as haven't paid for anything, will take some wine with me to my friends though as don't want to go empty handed.

Good Afternoon Chums, been a busy day here, I had a lecture this moring at Uni then, then went to the library for some books. Just after I arrived home my DGS Danny arrived. He wanted to show me the roses and chocolates he has bought for his gorgeous girlfriend Chloe.Bless him he is a bit of a romantic on the quiet. They are going to New York in April for a week and she is buzzing about it. He has been quite a lot with his parents and can't wait to show her the 'Big apple' I quickly rustled him up a few bacon sarnies which went down well with him and he's now gone off home.I read my gas and electric meters and the bills look as though they will be considerably higher than last year ,but hey ho it has been a looong cold winter.Managed to get the little bit of washing out and given a blow on the line today which is a result and I'm now just about to go and make myself a nice chicken salad with the other breat I had left over from yesterdays chicken.I have a very large jug of chicken stock in the fridge so I may bag it up and freeze it for the moment, wait until the leeks come down a bit in price then I'll make some leek & tattie soup.
Well time to get a wriggle on and make an early dinner I think,I'm tempted to do a jacket potato to go with the chicken salad as well.Hope everyone has a good evening and keeps warm its still pretty nippy out there
take care all

Evening all
Blinkin cold here all day but no snow thank goodness.
Cant remember the last time I posted, think it was last week???
Hope all the poorlys are on the mend, welcome to any newbies and those feeling upset, depressed, sad, lonely or just plain fed up have a (((hug)))
Went to my Mum's this morning and she was in a tizz about her TV, she'd pressed a few buttons on her remote so the picture was weird OH soon sorted it out though, she was knitting away happily doing another scarf "for one of the ladies up the corridor" she said, ah well it keeps her happy and gives her something to do.:)
Then this PM we went to MIL's she was a lot better than she was last week, she was very disorientated last Saturday it worried us a bit, but she was ok after we had talked to her and settled her down, turns out she had cancelled her carer for the day, OH was not happy he told her not to do it again, if anything had happened and we could'nt get there, she would have been left on her own until the Sunday, does'nt bear thinking about.
It takes us around 45 mins to get there and since her stroke she has had carers in twice a day. Anyway we did her something to eat and a sandwich for later cleaned and tidied up a bit had a chat and then came home.
Better go Pizza is almost ready, have good evenings all
Anne
