Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Saturday 13th Feb.It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.

Morning OS lovelies,wave.gif

The second one we will slice and freeze into lunch size portions.
Thank you for all the good wishes for the meeting with the OT and shall probably ask for them again when she is due here next.
rose.gifValentines Day tomorrow so anyone who hasn't bought or made a card only has today to organise it in! (and that includes me.) My OH bought home the £5 bouquet of 12 red roses from Tescos and they are really beautiful. heartpump.gif

    Morning.
DD has decided to start the day at 4.30  She seems to be dropping daytime naps too so I am not sure how I am going to cope if this becomes a regular habit. Its getting harder to get her back off to sleep when she wakes

Sadly naff all OS going on today. Out to pick up a storage unit that I bought off ebay. Then got to pop to Toys R US for a birthday card and voucher ready for party at soft play this afternoon.

Diva - lucky you with your roses. Me and H have just exchanged cards. Quickly made mine one afternoon this week and thats it. We've agreed not to swap gifts this year.

Hugs to those that need them. Have a good day OS or not.

    Morning all :)

Not much sleep here last night - especially with a house full of girls

Pain levels haven't helped with the sleeping either. Of all the days to be in pain, today wasn't oneof them :(

Anyway, today is DD's 13th birthday :) I can't believe how quickly the time has flown by and can still remember the midwife placing her in my arms :o

There won't be any OS going on, to report, but hope you all have a wonderful weekend, whatever you're doing.

(((HUGS))) sandy. Thinking of you

    Morning peeps

icy outside this morning so i had to scrape the car :( hope it warms up a bit this afternoon.

Lots of bits and bobs sorted out this morning, i woke early so i put a load of washing on along with the dishwasher, the house smelt lovely as the bread was just baking as i came downstairs so that is cooling on the rack and i also baked a jacket potato for lunch and made spicy wedges to warm up in the oven for later - i like them really crispy :D

Tea tonight will be the spicy wedges hm tuna fishcakes and probably peas, lunch will be the jacket potato with lashings of butter and black pepper and breakfast will be philly on toast, hmmm i`m making myself feel hungry now.:p

Not a great deal more to report so i shall tootle off and do some w*rk and then i should be able to catch up later.

Tru - Loved the pix, the chicks are sooooooooo cute :)

    Have a super Saturday peeps.

    Morning all

I cant wait until DD understands the concept of staying in bed later on a saturday...I really don't need to be up at half five when I'm working let alone when I'm not!

Still haven't done a meal plan so thats first on the list this morning - will try and use whats in already and hopefully I just need fruit and veg which i will pick up from Lidl and some sausages and I think a big chicken for Sunday lunch so I can stretch it for Mondays dinner too.

Have to take DS1 to work for 11 so I'll pick up the shopping then and I feel the need to spend the day in the kitchen being productive OS style! Some batch cooking and baking I think but my hip/back have been playing up so I'll need painkillers before I start - don't like taking them but I think I need to today to get anything done.

I picked my Valentines card up when I was in England last week....haven't seen any sign of one from DH but to be fair I really don't need a card from him to know how much he loves me  - I am aware of how sickening that sounds but its true! :rotfl:

I had a 'discussion' with my sister last night which has really irritated me and I was thinking about it then and I'm annoyed again! maybe I should make some bread by hand and take my frustrations out on the dough  :rotfl:

    Have a good day

Might I suggest one of the swordfight games on Wii Sports Resort. Found one where you have to swordfight endless other opponents - certainly found it theraputic slashing and swashbuckling :rotfl: Next time I feel angry or annoyed I am definately going to use this game to get rid of my frustrations!

  • Morning everyone
I have been remarkable only by my absence this week, but it's finally the weekend, woo hoo. More than that, it is half term so I shall only be working part time, so even bigger WOO HOO.
Hubby's job seems to be ok, he's had a lot of sleepless nights worrying about it, but hopefully this time he has found something permanent.
I shall now go back & read what I've missed for the last few days.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning all

Love and hugs to those who are sad or poorly.

Have been MIA for a couple of days as our broadband connection went down and it's taken nearly 2 days for problem to be fixed by BT, but all is ok for now. OH gone into work this morning so I woke when he got up so have been up since 4.45am yuck!, but had coffee and a chat before he left, also checked Euro lottery numbers and we got 2 numbers and a star number so we won £7.00 woop woop - won't be spending it all at once!!

Had a semi-productive day yesterday as spend quite a bit of it on the phone with BT receiving updates on the Engineers progress. Had fortunately already done a MrT shop online so that arrived around midday. Washed and dried the load from the previous night. Had some good news on Thursday early evening my sis had a little girl and both mum and baby are well, rather her than me she's already got 2 boys of 4 and 2!! Went to do "pink" shopping as they expected to be blessed with a boy so bought a cute girly outfit and have sent it off - hopefully they will receive today.

Yesterday's dinner was delish, gammon, egg, mash, peas, green beans and sweetcorn with onion sauce for those that wanted it, DS2 had school disco - he really likes going - think it's going to be a bit of a party animal! Made 2 dozen biscuits and 2 dozen cup cakes yesterday afternoon, will be making a bakewell tart and fruit tealoaf today - will also decorate cup cakes. Have already put BM on and it's smelling lovely - DS1 and DS2 still in bed as both had a late night so will let them lie in until they want to get up. Have kept pretty much on top of the household chores so will keep at it this morning and then should be in a good position for next week when I'm off with the boys so that I can spend some time with them and sort out their cupboards and wardrobes - they both have had major growth spurts and lots of clothes that now don't fit! Will try to ebay anything good enough and charity shop anything else. Tonights dinner is going to be easy - egg, bacon, sausage, baked beans, tomatoes and mushrooms etc - DS2 has a birthday party tomorrow so we're going out for lunch whilst he is at the party then off to see OH's grandparents as we haven't seen them since before Xmas.

Need to go now otherwise I'll be on here all day. Have a good weekend everyone.

Keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Pipkin - hope DD has a lovely day.
    Hester - enjoy half term.

Slow start here this morning, just about to jump in the shower. Ended up having a good but not productive day yesterday. Went to a craft shop in another village which was fantastic. Didn't overspend luckily but got a couple of nice bits.

Today we are off to Chinatown this afternoon to celebrate Chinese New Year early. Plan to have a look round Kath Kidston first - have a few birthdays coming up. So no cooking for me tonight :j

This morning will aim to get the washing pile reduced and some housework done - gonna check the banks in a minute but all paperwork will be ignored today.

Hope you all have a great Saturday.x

    morning all!

just got back from work and wanted to say good morning before I catch up on the end of yesterdays thread.I'm having toast and coffee before I do anything:) got the next 3 days off so at least I'll be company for DH.

Plans for today are to make a shopping list of the bare essentials as we need to go and get some pigeon corn so will pop to a supernarket too.
DH could do with a change of scenery.

I dusted the old BM off the other day - to those who use theirs daily is it really money saving?as I'm undecided whether to stock up on flour and yeast or go for the Yellow stickered bread.

We aso need to go and recycle the stuff that cant be reused.

Pipkin - happy birthday to Miss Pipkin - an official teenager!:bdaycake:

Hester - hope you enjoy half term x

Will pop back later, hope you all have a lovely weekend x

    eddited to say

thanks so much for the support yesterday you lot are wonderful:)

PP - lemon drizzle freezes well, I have a great fail-safe recipe if you need one. sorry you didn't go away but I'm sure you'll enjoy it more when the funeral is over - (((hugs))) to you and DH x
