Hi
Ive got Avira installed, but when I try to do a full system scan it keeps sticking and doesnt go past a file called
c:system volume info 07c3dceb_0b80 etc etc
Ive looked in explorer but cant find a folder or file called system volume info.
Can anyone suggest what I can do about this? Do I need to find the file and delete it, or is there something else I can do about it?
Any suggestions welcomed!

it may be a pronlem with hidden folders
Microsoft Windows XP Professional or Windows XP Home Edition Using the FAT32 File System- Click Start, and then click My Computer.
- On the Tools menu, click Folder Options.
- On the View tab, click Show hidden files and folders.
- Clear the Hide protected operating system files (Recommended) check box. Click Yes when you are prompted to confirm the change.
- Click OK.
- Double-click the System Volume Information folder in the root folder to open it.
BUT that could be referring to your system restore if you have just recently purged a trojan or virus, in which case just flush the system restore...toggle it off, reboot and then toggle it on0 -
Turn off system restore, then turn back on again!!

Click the link (dark blue text) in my last post to boot into safe mode, then just run the scan as you would do in the normal mode
edit - turn off system restore (to delete any restore points), then turn it back on as the file is hiding in the system restore folder and will reappear even if you tell avira to remove it0 -
thanks guys, I'll give the suggestions a go!Sealed Pot no 20110

They should get to the bottom of exactly whats causing it and also update Avira so no one else has the problem:idea:0
