Girlfriend moving in

I wouldnt be happy with anything that had targets, dates and deadlines, all just too official.
I currently live with my gf, she is lovely, she owns her house, I pay a nominal amount that she decided was fair and I agreed to, which is far less than me living in rented accomodation on my own. I can save and have saved to pay for the next house too, so we can jump a rung on the ladder, better the area etc.
She is saving by paying off the mortgage, im saving by being careful.
I dont have a claim to her house, she wont have a claim to my savings if the worst was to happen, but we would both be happy seperating if the worst was to happen (financially).
She even says I never let her pay for anything, as I am generous, but carefully generous.
If I have 1k in the bank I wouldnt be rushing out to spend it. etc, but we live a happy life. And feel I can trust, and we have a happy future to look forward to. I pay her money CASH, just due to simplicity, I don't want it to get complicated.
I don't ever think it would!
I also never think we will be splitting, hence why it wasn't a thought before we got together and moved it together after only 4 months.Plan

My OH & I moved in with each other fairly quickly after meeting each other (his house)
He had had the same concerns about me gold-digging as we didnt know each other that well really if im being honest. We only moved in together because we lived 3 hours drive apart and his house became available when the tenant left. We decided to try living together before getting financially entangled in a joint house.
I paid half the bills & "rent" equating to about 1/3 the mortgage, so there was no way i could claim to have been contributing to the mortgage and lay claim to his house if we were to split (not that i would have, but he didnt know for sure)
Anyway, 4 years later, we're happy, now living in a new Joint house and getting married next year.
Im glad he looked to protect himself (even if i was a bit upset about it at the time). You always hear about relationships breaking up and someone being taken to the cleaners. Better to be safe than sorry.:jProud mummy to a beautiful baby girl born 22/12/11 :j0
