I`m on the look out for another printer because my current Lexmark is just too expensive for cartridges,so I won`t be buying this one.
I`ve looked at Canon and HP but again it`s the price of the ink that`s off putting.
So far the best deal I can see and keeping costs reasonable is an Epson SX215 for £39-99 and replacement cartridges for less than £1 each (although you do need four).

Also if you search Ebay for SX215 ink you can find stacks of cheap replacements.
People say Epson`s printerheads (which are built in) clog up and that`s a downside but no matter what printer you go for there`s ALWAYS a downside.0 -
I have a canon pixma too and can highly recommend 7dayshop for cheap ink replacements. They sell originals and compatibles, and the latter now come chipped so you don't have to fiddle around swapping the chip over“All you need is love. Excellent offer - agree about the high ink costs though.
OP - this post would probably get more views if the actual printer cost was in the title and or post, rather than the saving.
Cheers,

thanks for posting. been wanting to get a printer for ages (dont really print much anyway though) and have ordered this to collect monday0

Mine is getting delivered on monday too!
To be honest for all the ink I use I'll be happy to pay for the cartridges whenI need to. I love the fact its a wireless printer and suits how I want to be able to use it in my home. I'll take advantage of the £5 off coupons and save a few cartridges up over the next few months :j
Thanks again for the find!0 -

Agree with all that has been said about printers and checking ink prices, one small word of warning, I bought an Epson SX200 (I think the SX215 may take the same 4 cartridges) after my canon pixma only liked chipped cartridges, and the cheap replacements were completely touch and go ( you had to use the original chip from original cartidges and re-insert it into a chip holder, sometimes worked, sometimes didn't). The Epson was cheap enough to buy and I can't knock the quality, and I was delighted to find cheap chipped replacements. Unfortunately, although it likes these for a short while, before the cartridge is anything like empty, it kicks up a fuss, and insists I install another, despite the old one being half full, rendering it a complete false economy (although admittedly, it seems to cope with the black cartridge fine). I would advise anyone to have a good google on the model before buying to see if people are having problems with cheap replacements if this is the route you want to go down. HtH salx0 -
