exactly my point cleavage - i didn't get yours either :)

Oh, sorry about that, I thought you'd be able to read between the lines.

To explain, most people seemed to be coming on here saying that they do so because they learn something, because they like the variety of posters, because of the banter, to get to speak to a variety of people that they wouldn't do in real life etc. etc.

StifflersMom said that he came on here to mock a specific group of people. The reason that I said that this "says more about him than it does about them" is that coming on to a forum solely to mock a specific group of people probably shows a bit of immaturity and maybe a bit of insecurity too. Hence revealing a bit of his personality.

You then asked what people who watch comedies on TV about families are like. I'm still not sure that is the same. I presume you mean that they watch it because you think it means they mock families, but I don't think this is the case. It's probably more that the family are the subject of the comedy, but they watch for the jokes.

    Hope this helps. :)

So, why do you use this forum?

I use it from a combination of enjoying the community here, habit, boredom, learning new things, trying to educate others and a general interest in economics.

    100% in agreement with OP.

I came here because we were having trouble selling our house. After reading the advice given, we followed it, finding that it didn't make a scrap of difference. I therefore hung around a bit more, trying to see where we were going wrong. :(

I'm still here, but I don't remember much, so I have to keep coming back to see what it was I didn't learn in the first place. In the meantime, we have STR'd, whatever that is, and exchanged a rather boring semi in Bath for a weird 5 acre smallholding in Devon, even getting some change. :p

Clearly I have no idea about all this stuff, but it keeps me off the naughty pages of the Internet, so my wife approves.:)

I chanced across this board but now I hang around for some good jokes from mewbie, but as as Diana Ross lamented 'I'm still waiting' icon7.gif

To be honest the posters on the board have their own character and style, many I would be quite happy to have as pals generally and down the pub, yes that includes you ladies and Devon.

I use this board despite it getting quite rowdy at times because its a great source of information.

I think Im reasonaly clued up when it comes to handling my finances, way better than most, but compared to a lot of people on this board Im a newb.

Theres a lot to be learnt here if you take some posters comments with a pinch of salt :D

Ps I love hamish! Mon' the scotland!

You mean you'd have been less gentlemanly if you'd have known? :)

(That's if he is of course and the 'he' wasn't being used as a generic term).

I use this board as I enjoy reading comments and partipating in threads with like minded people, ie. Tory voting, Gordo Brown and Labour party haters and climate change doubters.
