How much compensation shall i ask for?

Now then - where do I start?
Firstly I should point out that our litigious society really annoys me. People think that for the smallest of things they should automatically be able to claim all sorts of amounts of money with no real thought as to how they have conjured up those figures.
I'm not denying that having an infestation of cockroaches is horrible and I wouldn't wish it upon anyone. If as you say you had to buy new carpets and white goods from your own pocket as a consequence of this then yes, you should be reimbursed for this. However, you seem to have arrived at a figure grasped from the ether. Some of the posts seem to suggest that we aren't getting the whole truth, I haven't gone back over your previous posts but I struggle to see why you would do nothing about this other than complain. Where did your guestimate of a thousand pounds come from??
As for your asthma. You say your attacks increased by 900% I assume this means you had 10 rather than the 1 you had the previous year. If these really were true asthma attacks, you were presumably hospitalised. If not you may struggle to prove any adverse effects on your health.
Finally. If you claim for this money, where do you think it will come from (should you win)? It will come straight from council funds and hence, reduce the amount of money available for keeping people who don't have the money for their own houses with a roof over their head.
As a final thought, maybe if you hadn't accrued all your catalogue debt, you would have been able to afford either your own place or to have your little infestation dealt with properly.
Maybe you should take your bull to someone who asks you for it?Owed out = lots. :cool:0 -

In another thread - Dodgy Landlord - you have advised someone to go to environmental health due to a problem with their living accommodation. You told them that you went to environmental health yourself and got moved out of unsatisfactory accommodation within 3 weeks. So if your asthma attacks have gone up by 900% in 12 months, how come haven't you followed your own advice and got moved again on health grounds?
Somehow something isn't quite right with this and I remember your other posts about cockroaches and swine flu and how you didn't seem to grasp the concept of getting off your backside and helping yourself out.
The flat i moved out of was private rented, Environmental Health can do this to the private sector, however, if you read my post instead of jumping the gun and bashing me or taking me as a false person, you could always mail my entire block of flats all the families and call them all " not quite right" if you want to. Now, the environmental health CAN NOT put abatement notices on organisations that they work with i.e the council housing, please guys, instead of being suspicious of claims like these just try help instead, this is whet this forum is for, i believe i helped the other OP not just stuck my oar in and be rude because in my private life i have nobody else to talk to, like many people who spend all night on here calling other people names.
Thanks.Owed out = lots. :cool:0 -

I'm not sure I'd have been happy to suffer a 900% increase in asthma attacks for nearly a year regardless of what I could screw out of someone at the end of it. Sod the compo, ever thought of trying to move?
Er, yes, i have been trying to move, this is making me think you guys are not exactly a big help, i have some advice for you all, don't post on my threads and ignore me.Owed out = lots. :cool:0 -
