My Log Burner Not Getting Hot.

A 4 KW stove was able to heat your whole house in the coldest winter in 30 years? What do you live in, a matchbox? I have a 5.5KW stove in a 20sq metre room and I struggled to maintain 20C on the coldest nights last winter when temps dropped below -5.
My cheapy Ebay purchased (7kw rated) woodburning stove installed by myself  some five years ago has performed superbly for all of that time once I learnt to feed it sufficient wood & not be stingy with it. I can honestly say I only had the central heating on once this last winter & like the guy above that was to check it still worked & make sure the pump still circulated.
We have a 3 bed bungalow, very open plan as far as the three reception rooms go but find with the stove on most of the day the heat permeates through to all the rooms. Burning free wood too, but with lots of effort by me to collect, cut up & store away, it has seriously sved me a fortune. My direct debit for gas has recently reduced to £4 / month for gas as we only use it for the gas cooker now.4kw PV fitted 4th July 2014 (Green Energy NW £5600). WSW facing, 30 deg Pitch, Unshaded, Samil Solar River inverter, 16 Solar World Mono panels, Iboost on Immersion Heater. located in mid Lincolnshire.0
