buying orange phone

hi people,buyng son a new phone from carphone ware house.(samsung tocco lite)hes on contact with orange .8 months to go ,but phone is dead.just wondering about 80 pounds to buy it,then another 10 pounds to top it up.why top up if you are on contract?how does that work

Talk to orange and samsung to see if existing phone is under warranty (and if the warranty covers the repair).
The pay and go phone you get is only sold with top ups - they do not know about your contract or care to be honest.
Talk to orange about paying for a replacement (they might have refurbished or even new ones they can offer at a discount).0 -
