OP if you are self-employed why don't you see if you can give your son a part-time job. He will learn a lot especially if you enforce the rules- no work no pay.

I know people who have been given work by their fathers.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

  • davief, not bitter and jealous of people who earn more than me at all - (and for that matter, how do you know you do earn more than me?) I don't think that's what my post implied anyway - I thought I stated quite clearly that if you deserved it I hope you managed to get it, and if you didn't then you shouldn't be asking for help on this forum.

What I am is annoyed with people who think they have the right to EMA just because they fit into one of the categories the government didn't think about before they started it, when you know full well that you really earn more than the £30k allowed and really, when you break it down, you're stealing from the government, in an ethical, if not legal, sense.

And I wasn't giving you my own personal view of the world; I was asking whether your personal view of the world was one where you thought that just because you could claim a particular benefit meant that you should.
