It wasn't a warranty though. It was an insurance policy and it wasnt a breakdown. It was damage.
They are entitled to investigate any claim they want. If the OP isn't happy he should complain, demand a final resolution letter and then consult the ombudsman.
I suspect he has his knickers in a twist and it will be sorted with a simple call.0 -
