Cheap dongles

Not sure if I should have put this in the internet access forum or here, but hey ho.....

I very very stupidly left my broadband dongle on the train last night. No biggy really and vodafone are sending me a replacement sim BUT I want to get a replacement dongle so I'm guessing that I need a PAYG one and stick the contract sim in there. Correct?

So, whats the cheapest place to get a vodafone dongle payg/sim free whatever. Ebay is of course an option (and I suspect the best one!) Opinions though please?

If you have a spare 3G mobile with Bluetooth and your laptop has Bluetooth, you could put the dongle SIM into the phone and connect to the internet (known as "tethering") using the phone.

Thanks for that feedback mark, it'll be a right faff doing that (and to tether to an android phone via bluetooth at the mo you need a paid for app) - I'd rather look for a cheapo dongle as the cost wont be that much different and far more convenient to keep it seperate! :D

There was an ad in this weeks Metro newspaper(Can be viewed online)offering free dongle (only have to pay £4.99 postage)I can't remember who it was with but it was in either Mondays or Tuesdays edition.

EDIT: Just remembered it was an o2 dongle so maybe no good for you.

I believe all you have to do is call 0800 954 1401 and it pay £4.95 P&P.
  • just picked up a free dongle (O2 I'm afraid) via Quidco offer

    You frequently see them

the major problem isnn't just the dongle its also the SIM

Have a look at Joiku Spot Lite makes your phone into a gateway without hassle eats battery time though
