O2 have now even admitted they made an error in taking the money on the original date but are refusing to reimburse the money as 'it was owed to O2' and claiming they are not liable for any charges incurred by the customer for O2s error. This is ridiculously out of order.

Check any insurance policies that may have been taken out with the phone to see if they cover you for airtime abuse.

With regards to the DD, if they were not supposed to take the money contact your bank and tell them to put through a DD Indemnity Claim as the money was taken in error. They then have to refund the money to your account (it will be charged back to thephone account) and it should go back into your account same working day.

    Hope that helps

Thank you balmk. I've just posted on the DD page as well - so will probably be told this again.

Unfortunately O2 have told us that they dont offer any insurance on the contract as it was a sim only contract and they only offer insurance on more expensive contracts that include a phone.
