My daughter has hurt herself just before she was due to fly home.
Which airline was/is your daughter due to fly home with? Has that flight date passed and have you spoken to the airline?

There is a discussion forum about business class on various airlines that is called 'flat seats'. I am sure that Google will find it for you.

The hospital have discharged her. Her mum has flown over to look after her. Home cooking should speed the recovery. The hospital say she is fit to travel when she feels fit to travel. It's a pain issue. There is nothing anyone can do but wait for the bones to mend.

Cheaper accommodation in Australia is hard to find. There are flats but they don't work out a lot cheaper than holiday rentals. Most have long leases and then there is electric etc. to pay. So you can get a room with a kitchen(ette) for ~Au$100/night. Flats when they looked started from 500-600 so even with the lease aside there is not a lot of difference.

The current tentative plan is to opt for malaysia airways which have a 34in seat pitch (compared with 31 on BA, Quantas etc.) and a go for a 8hr, 14hr layover, 13.5hr flight home. The 14hr layover is at KUL and there looks to be an airside hotel with rooms. If all 3 share a room for 9hrs it comes to ~£55. This going away from lie flat but at the moment walking is the most comfortable so I'm not sure lie flat would be useful. Better to have a full sized bed and proper night's sleep, if possible. Mornings are better than evenings (at the moment). Body clock wise the KUL arrival would be at 23:40 so perhaps 1-2am to get to bed.

I find economy seat comfort is more important than pitch.

Her travel insurance lapsed during her stay and yes, in hindsight , it might well have been a good idea to take out some more but it was overlooked.
