Windows February Security Updates

Just a 'heads up' that Windows Update now has the February security updates available. No less than 10 updates this month for my XP system. Makes you wonder how much of the original OS is still in there ... it must have more holes than a Swiss cheese. :rotfl:

:rotfl:...but at least the holes can be filled; with Vista it's a permanent blockage :rotfl::rotfl:.

My Windows 7 HP 32 Bit, machine got screwed up by the latest updates.
When it finally rebooted the task bar remained frozen.
I fixed it by stopping and restarting the explorer.exe process.
Its just been one of those weeks!

The only problem that I've experienced with this month's updates (5 PCs with various 'flavours' of Windows) was on a Windows 7 PC, on which Microsoft Security Essentials had been installed as a test. It kept failing to download the updates but hung for vast amounts of time when shut down/rebooted.

Removing MSE and replacing it with Antivir permitted normal operation.
