I`m running Microsoft Security Essentials and have downloaded and installed all the latest updates without a problem.
Having dumped it, the PC in question is running much more smoothly.

  • Win7 x64, took all the updates, Microsoft Security Essentials runs ok, in fact no noticeable change whatsoever.

Because of this ' heads up ' I had a look at behaviour and there's no change, same footprint, CPU load, etc !

Microsoft Security Essentials is an angelic choirboy compared to the chav checkers out there!
