Play.com phones unlocked?

I'm eyeing the Nokia 2730 on Play.com, sold on Vodafone. I am a SIM only Voda customer at the moment but that may change.

Do Play.com's phones (of any make, model or cost) come locked or unlocked please?

They will all be locked unless you specifically buy from their unlocked section I assume.

To my knowledge, all Play.com's phones come unlocked unless stated otherwise. Ha I know this a complete contrast to the above post but..my previous play phone was unlocked and the prices they charge tend to suggest that they still are

Yes. I rang and the sales person seemed unsure. Seems quite a tricky phone to unlock (?), certainly can't be done by code & with my luck with machines, if I take it to the local unlock shop, it will go wrong at some point and I'll have no warranty. Just seems the best phone I can get sub £50 right now.

The Vodafone one is £50, but they also sell an unlocked one for £80, so I think it's highly unlikely the cheaper one will be unlocked too

(I'd post a link to the unlocked one, but I can't yet cos I'm a newbie, but if you just type Nokia 2730 into the search box in Play you'll find it)

Phones4u and CPW tend to sell them unlocked and don't forget quidco/topcashback

I'd imagine it's unlocked, most independent suppliers buy on a bunch of unlocked phones and just slap whatever SIM they feel like with it.

I can guarantee that the Nokia 2730 Classic Vodafone Pre-Pay / Pay As You Go Mobile Phone (Black / Silver) will be locked to the Vodafone network.

Unlocked phones on Play.com are always sold as 'sim free/unlocked'.
