  • Not sure where the £8K comes into it, as DMG said it is £6K.
  • I had one of these a few weeks ago. I was worried sick thinking they suspected me of fraud ect but it was just a routine visit.

He was there for about 10 minutes & just asked if my circumstances have changed & if they do in the future 2 let them know.

Nothing at all 2 worry about

She has been and it was because of my self-employment.

She just asked me what I did etc...

She was nice and gave me advice on my eczema.

I wish I had never bothered with self-employment now.

It has caused lots of hassle it was a homeworking job from here.

    Never again :o

Thanks so much for letting me know. It's prob about my self employment too then. I did some mystery shopping for a while and quite enjoyed it at the time but its the tax return that I'm worried about doing....yes I know I have passed the deadline....trying to face up to it as I didn't keep good records and have lost a bag of receipts.

Did she ask you for bank statements at all?

She just asked for prove of my identity.

I showed her my birth certificate.

Are you getting contribution based or income based JSA?
  • I am on income based now as my contribution based ran out. How about you?

Home visits are all part of claiming benefits. You can't ask for state intervention financially and not expect some kind of intervention in the rest of your life.

(I know the OP never mentioned this, just a point).

  • Just had my visit. Feel so relieved now as was nothing to worry about at all. He just reminded me of the rules of claiming JSA, wrote down my current circumstances and told me to let them know if there were any changes. Phew!:)

Can I ask why you were so worried?
