Touched up paint is lighter than rest of wall

I've touched up a few spots in my kitchen that had some scuff marks on the walls.
I used the leftover paint that was originally used and stirred it well, however the touched up parts are quite a bit lighter than the rest of the wall !!
How do you overcome this....without having to paint the entire wall ?

The paint discolours from the air circulating containing fats etc & the longer its on the more stained it gets.
You could try & clean the wall but if your going to do that you might as well paint it.Not Again0 -
We had a problem with very noticeable scuff marks made by furniture delivery guys where the packaging rubbed against walls painted about 6 months previously. As we'd had the whole house decorated after renovation and asked the decorator to come back and give us some advice. He said patch painting like you describe would most likely be lighter in colour, I gave it a go and he was right, it was noticeable as the original paint had darkened and the new stuff stood out as light patches. As there was a lot to do he came back and repainted three walls for me.
I don't think there's much you can do, you either put up with the scuff marks, put up with lighter patches or repaint the wall.0 -
Did you sugar soap the wall before you started?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0
