Anyone used Sub-0-G luggage ???

I bought a small Sub Zero suitcase and it was within size limits of BA cabin baggage. As BA allow over 50lbs of cabin baggage weight no problem. The handle goes down the edge of the suitcase so no space used up inside housing the handle giving more packing space. It seemed a really good suitcase until I bought some duty free and realised I couldn't perch the carrier bag on the top of the case and rest it against the handles as they were too far apart. Also realised I couldn't use it with my carry-on bag if I ever put the suitcase in the hold as the handles are too far apart for the flap on the bag to go over the handle so the bag could sit on top of the case safely. This is obviously not a problem if the suitcase bought for cabin use only but I had been considering buying a larger case for family holidays. Will stick with traditional suitcases with narrower handles in future.0

We bought the hand luggage size from argos last year, used it for one return journey and had to return it because the wheels seemed loose and wobbly. We exchanged it for another one and after its first outing same thing. Wheels have splayed and one is wobbly. Case was used on Ryanair so there's no way it was overloaded.0

You shouldnt need a receipt to swop it if it was defective. I bought a Tripp case from Debenhams and the lock broke after a couple of years, i took it back and swopped it without a receipt.
This is true. Debenhams Leicester just accepted my wife's faulty case without a receipt and swapped it outright.
The only thing I can add to this is that I'd go for the 4 wheeled version over the 2 wheeled one every time.
I will stick to my Antler Jupiter II cases but my wife is very happy with hers.0 -
Hi I bought my husband one last year. Had never used it until we lent it to his sister to take to Cambodia. The frame ended up buckled and snapped. When I contacted the Leather and Luggage Online Shop in Perth, Australia they informed me that if it had been damaged by an airline or whilst travelling the 10 year warranty did not cover it. Why do we buy suitcases if not to travel? I am really disappointed as this particular suitcase cost me AUD175.00. When I asked the Leather and Luggage shop what was covered by the 10 year warranty they have not responded. Very disappointed.0

I got a couple of the 1st generation Sub Zero suitcases. A foot stand broke off one on the third trip but the other identical case has just done it's 8th overseas trip and is still in good condition.0

I'm looking at buying these cases - the lightweight of them is very tempting as we only have 15kg luggage allowance! Reviews seem quite mixed but I think I'm prepared to risk it and will take back if they don't hold up well on first outing.
Had posted in the I WANNA section about luggage then came across this thread. If anyone sees any at a good price please let me know :-)It is only a bargain if you need it!0 -
My local Wilkinsons has some nice light weight cases - worth a look. I only use a hard shell case for hold baggage. It's heavier (5kg) but sturdier and these cases last longer for sure. The soft sided cases look too flimsy to me for hold baggage.
I would use a small light weight case for carry on though as it won't be treated badly.0 -
After buying two hard shell cases and having them cracked like an egg by the airline we decided to buy Sub-0 which we have had for a number of years and wouldn't have any other. I am now looking to buy their holdall to complete our set. We go away two or three times a year taking both hold and cabin cases all Sub-0. Well worth the money, best luggage we've ever had. Look out for bargins, we had ours from TJ Hughes (local one now closed).0

Picked a large one up in Argos a couple of weeks back for £39.99 which was the best price i've seen. We got one last year around the same time from Argos for the same price so they often have reductions.
In fact it's still on offer.

Lovely flowery one so it's easy to see on the luggage belt!:beer:0 -

And some pr*t will still pick it up and examine it thinking it's their's before (hopefully) bouncing it back onto the rubber belt.0
