Taking Sky TV to Germany

I'm moving to Germany early April and am looking into getting Sky installed before we go so we can take it with us and I have a few questions....
Is it easy enough for me to uninstall?
When I get there do I have to re-install it myself or will there be someone who can do it for me?
Do I have to tell Sky I'm taking it abroad?
If I do tell Sky, what address do I give them? The street address or the BFPO address?
Thnaks in advance

I don't think you can take it with you as it's a UK service?
A quick Google came up with this: http://www.insatinternational.com/viewing_details.php?CountryID=16 if that's any help?:j Almost 2 stones gone! :j

Thanks for that, but I know you can definately take it with you, just not sure how!0

you can take it with you, but you can't tell sky as it is a breach of their t&c's, if they find out that it is out of the country then they will cut off the services. Should be ok as long as the bill is getting paid from a UK account and you have a UK address.0

That's the exact questions that I was going to ask as I'll be moving out there as well in Mid August! I already have a Sky+ HD box and multiroom with Sky HD package, so am I right to assume that as long as I'm paying the monthly subscription from a UK account and with a UK address then I'll be fine receiving the same channels?
Obviously, I would need to get a dish when I arrive there?? and also it get attach to a landline to get it work? Sorry, I'm not very technical as you all can tell! :>

I think it only needs to be connected to a landline for the interactive services to work such as voting on X Factor etc? I would have presumed that we'd take the dish with us?0

Hi
A friend has hers in Spain, has payment from her UK account and her Sky account is registered at her sister house in her name and has no problems getting the reception for the channels the only thing they did have to do was buy a larger statalite dish.
I would see if you/your partner has mates or contact out their already and find out from them what they do .
Hope that helps a little.

Take the dish with you but continue to register the account at a UK address (A relative or friend will do - I had mine registered to my Mother's Address). You'll probably find that you will not be able to place the dish on your Quarter or Barrack Block but instead you will have to place it at a strategic point in your garden as encroachment is taken seriously out there and they tend not to let you place them on the side of your domicile. It's pretty easy to line up and get a strong signal so you shouldn't have any problem there. The only downside is that you will probably not be able to use the some of the interactive services as it is not advisiable to connect it to you Deutsche Telekom phone line.0

The last time I went to Germany (didn't have Sky then, learned my lesson lol) I remember loads of dishes attached to the washing lines posts! Quite a funny site! Not bothered about the interactive services... never use them anyway! Thanks for the advice0

Noo....if you have multiroom, you need both boxes connected to the phone so Sky can check they're in the same house.

Thanks Spike!
I do have multiroom right now but really wouldn't be that bother if I don't have it in Germany as it'll be so much hassle (for my little technical brain!) to connect phone lines etc..I'm so glad to know that the box will work out there, will definitely keep the subscription going and we do have another property which we own and left empty in the UK, so I can register to that address.
Thanks again and can't wait for the move!Pinklover xx0
