airmiles problem after 2 years

I decided to use the airmiles I had been saving for years and when I logged on to my account I was told that as I hadn't collected any miles for 2 years my account had been closed and I have lost all my airmiles. Has anyone else experienced this and can they do that?

Yes, they can. Surely you read the terms and conditions when you opened the account?

Probably not but I thought at least they would have warned me before they closed the account.

They emailed and posted a letter to everyone affected - have you moved home or changed email address but not updated your details on the Airmiles website?

You could try calling them if you still have your account numbers and details - they've always been helpful on the telephone to me - but I suspect you've lost them for good, I'm afraid...

I was in the same boat and they have sent me plenty of letters and emails warning me

I know it's of no help at all now and I only post this because it's not a new thing, but it is a change which some may not be aware of (I saw it when it was first announced here and warned my in-laws as they had also been collecting for some time).
