something very serious for that sentance!0 -
He was convicted of conspiracy to rob. The sentence was based on the enourmous amount of money involved. sadly he was incorrectly convicted, hence the fact I am not currently sunning myself on the costa del sol surrounded by millions:(0

Just being bit nosey! Sorry to hear about ur situation, he got a long stretch for that. Our criminal system seems to put a heavy sanction for crime involving money, where if he had bumped someone off he'd be out with a tag in about 18 months.
Why was his conviction incorrect?Be happy, it's the greatest wealth

Why was his conviction incorrect?
Yes money does seem to have more importance than life according to our justice system.

Hi all, I have already posted reagrding my almost 3 month wait for CTC. I have been calling them weekly to find out what the situation is and got the closest thing to an explanation yesterday, when I was told that i had said that I was in a 'relationship' with my partner. When I told her that he has been in prison for nearly 4 years and has at least another 10 to serve she seemed to think it didn't matter as I had said ( I may well have done as I didn't think it would make a difference) we were in a 'realtionship' . I have 2 children and am income support and their father as much as he would like to is unable to contribute financially due to being in prison. I am so frustrated! i am still waiting for them to make a decision now.
I am also wondering if the fact that he has £25,000 in a bank account that is frozen and unlikely to be returned to him is a factor? i am fed up of waiting and trying to live on £64 p/w and loans/ handouts from friends and family.

Yes, I get £138 p/m which covers house insurance, landline, electric, water and tv liscence( my gas is on a meter).
The £64 has to buy gas, which is costing me at least £20 p/w at the moment ( the meter was installed so I could ay my whopping bill, due to innaccurate estimates, off weekly) which leaves £40 something to buy food and other bits the kids and I might need.0 -
At least he is in good company - the prisons are stuffed with people that have been incorrectly convicted.
Whether you believe his guilt or not really is irrelavnt to MY circumstances, as I have been neither suspected nor charged of any wrongdoing, stupidly I replied to a previous poster who asked why he was in prison. I have asked for advice on the subject of child tax credits and wondered if anone had any knowledge of the timescale and guidelines which would apply to my situation. Thankyou to those who took the time to reply with helpful information.0
