How about not getting into a position where you'll skid in the first place. Its called driving to the conditions!
Your points have already been made. My post and those to which it referred were in relation to what action to take once you were in a skid in order to bring it under control. FWIW I believe some skids cannot be brought under control. One poster agrees with this and another doesn't. All rather academic as disaster will probably have struck long before any remedial action, if possible, would take effect.0 -
Very true. Thrown myself in a few hedges in my earlier days
I slid off the road my very first winter after passing my test, ice on a bend from an overflowing stream. got a right telling off from my Dad, going too fast yadda yadda, icy conditons blah blah. He promptly slid off in exactly the same place the next morning :rotfl:

I'd only just passed my test, was 17, I knew everything there was to know about everything at that age. It's only as you get older that you realise you know very little about anything
That was my one and only car accident in 20 years and over 500000 miles though (field service/sales for a number of years). The bike is a different story.......
