New York flights query

Hi all

I am from Manchester going to New York at the end of April, I am going with my football team but I have to fly out on my own because the flight is now full.

I was scouring for flights yesterday and have been looking for over a week or so, obviously looking for the cheapest one! I found a direct one flying from London on Opodo yesterday for £275, when using the opodo20 code it took it down to £255. However when I went to book it I realised I'd left my wallet in my drawer at work, Ive just got in now and gone to book it and the flights have flown up in price, not just on this flight but seemingly on every website and company.

Whats happened to make the prices shoot up so much? Should I expect them to drop again?

I suppose Carpe Diem is the correct phrase

It may well have been a limited offer that was book by the 9th Feb then goes back up to the normal price (£275 was and amazing fare for New York) ... if one airline was offering this the others may have dropped their prices to compete, when the offer stops they can all go back to their normal fares

Just confirmed my suspicion - Opodo does show
    New York direct flights£276
Limited time only - book by 9 Feb
  • D'oh!

Is there likely to be any deals in the near future or do I just book normal price now?
  • Ended up getting one from Manchester via Chicago for £313. Not too bad.

That's good, did u get the £20 off as well?

  • No, I found this one direct on the American Airlines site. Opodo had it for £339 and charge 2% transaction fee so it would have been £326 with the £20 off. American Airlines dont charge anything extra so I just got it for £313 off the AA site.
