My 3 month old nokia 5800 has just develpoed this annoying habit when it rings. The first ring is OK then it starts to slow and alter pitch as if running out of steamm. Has anyone else suffered this or got any idea to stop it?

What kind of ringtone are you using? Does this happen when you change the ringtone to something else?

Also check that its not got a special effect setting set. Mine had reverb set on it which sounds like yours does too.

Can I ask what the battery life is like in peoples Nokia 5800s?
I am on my 2nd one in 2 months and the battery lasts 24 hrs with minimal usage, and max of 36 hrs solely on standby. I have exited all apps. I am sure the 1st one wasnt this bad (before it seized up)
  • Mine lasts for days, sometimes even a week.

My battery lasts about 2-3 days with the phone set to check my e-mail every hour.

I stopped mine checking emails at all, and still made no real difference when on standby. I think i must phone to sort out replacement battery.
