I'm getting unsolicited emails from Elephant Loans from the following people:

Sarah Bond 23 February 2011
Jenny White 23 Feb 2011
Stephen Moore 24 Feb 2011
Jo Bremner today 7th March 2011

I'm addressed by my full name, which, on the email address I get them on is not shown. This is quite disturbing. Someone has clearly sold the details to these shysters.

I've emailed (yes I know I can unsubscribe but these unsubscribes rarely work) asking how they got my full name, telling them I have never applied for a loan to anyone, and asking for the name of the Trade Body, if any, they belong to.

Stony silence!

Is there not some new law about websites and the ASA, from 1st March?

This is a scam...avoid like the plague at all costs!

I responded to an unsolicited e-mail from Elephant Loans and responded as I mistakenly thought they had some link with Elephant Insurance from whom I had recently got car insurance

Clever marketing on their part as there is no connection whatsoever

The Elephant Loans agent spoke to me at length on 3 different occassions during which she told me the loan amount, APR, monthly repayment, and confirmed that I had already been credit scored and approved.

I asked her to confirm all of the above and she did. I asked her if there was a ballon payment at the end and she said there wasn't. I asked her about admin fees and she said I needed to pay £49.99 to release loan documents. I therefore paid and was not amused when instead of loan documents, I got a letter from a company called Easy Finance Ltd advising I had been pre-approved for a loan at a typical APR and that I would have to complete a form to complete the application. There were also T&Cs that allowed them to charge more fees. No idea what I paid nearly £50 for other than being blatantly deceived and ripped off

The setup is a bit dodgy to make it hard to complain but basically EAsy Finance and Elephant Loans are one and the same as I googled the ElephantLoans number which was saved on my mobile call records and it came up as belonging to Easy Finance. On the ElephantLoanswebsite, the only mailing address is for a company called E Digital UK which is got dodgy written all over it

So again, Elephant Loans, Easy Finance Ltd, E Digital UK, avoid all of them like the plague no matter how good the deal sounds as it is a scam!

OK, I didn't get the email that mentions Martin but I've received one of those email from Kirsty Ward of mis-soldelectricity.co.uk which is registered by E Digital UK Ltd. But the link in the email is directed to trustedquote.co.uk and signed by Lucy Berry! No company registration information, address what's so ever.

Yes, someone sold my name and the one email address which I have been very careful of.

As BigK mentioned, what's this ASA (from 1st March 2011)?

I want to nail those behind the scam

Should I contact the trading office in my local area OR one in Cheshire because E Digital UK Ltd is registered at Errwood House, Bramhall, cheshire, SK7 1BD
Money is not the root of all evil.
It depends on how you obtain it and how you use it.

Have you sold your soul to the devil?
