I bought a jumper from John Lewis. I jhave now decided I do not like it and wondered if Martin could have a word with his brother John to see if a refund is possible.

Not to defend these guys but there is more than one person in the world called Martin Lewis, and I don't see any reference to MSE in that email either.

first the email is not from anyone called martin lewis, it is from martine levis. just enough difference when you glance quickly to misread it.

    I agree with this.

I signed up for this forum using a unique email address (One I haven't given elsewhere, nor has my brother who's email service it is), I got one of these emails (Which was promptly deleted) Has this forum sold my details or had a data leak?

Jill are you saying you got the 'martin lewis' email to the address you use only for the forum? If so please cna you pm me?

  • Unsecured loans company seems to be sending out bogus emails directing potentials to a site that looks remarkably like the liquidated Elephants loans company ! Is this legal ?!

I have on several occasions be contacted via email by a "Steven Moore" offering an "APPROVED" (not pre-approved") £15,000 loan via elephant loans.
In the past I've been caught by the Unsecured loans company with promises of a loan once a £49 fee was paid ... which I did ! ... to be told nothing was then available and I had bee refused by all lenders !

I still have access to their online portal, but on calling Unsecured loans company in regards to this they are denying I have any details on there system, several times hanging up or just being plain rude !
Surely somebody must be able to sue these !!!!!! for false advertising as well as obviously illegally trying to take up the Elephant loans name !?

  • OMG why didn't I wake up and smell the coffee!

Well I wish I didn't get so impulsive some times before researching first. I Recieved an email from "Chris Smith",that's CHRIS SMITH! saying I have been pre-approved loan from Elephant which when I clicked on gave minor details recieved a phone call literally 5 mins later after a txt 3 mins prior. They took more details did a quick research and hey presto I was approved, they then said they were the brokers and to continue I would need to pay £59 broker fee which I did. I was given a link and a code and as soon I hung up I felt nervous. I found the site and entered the code and hey presto an advisor from "Unsecured loans company" rang me within 15 mins went through my details again, then said that if I was approved there would be a £49 broker fee, I was gobsmacked having only just paid £59 less than an hour before, ALARM BELLS were ringing so I said I had already paid a broker only to then have to pay another broker. I left it with them saying I needed time to think on it. After seeing this on here esp the post above I will be having choice words when they ring 2mora.
As a last queiry can I forward any of these spam emails to this site perhaps so you can rat em out n nail them to the wall, any takers!!
I'm just glad this mistake didn't cost a further £49 just would nice if I could get back the other £59.

Not all claire duncan's are evil though I'm sure there are some very, very nice claire duncan's.

So don't go tarring them all with that brush of yours.

(and yes I am a little bit bored,it seems very quiet here today)
