Morning all - Just an update for those interested. Went to see Vicar... we are indeed double booked! Same date, time, church! Yikes. I was all set to cancel it but the second I walked in I remembered how awesome the venue was - was V calm and weve agreed to move ours 2pm-4pm then the second wedding 4pm - whenever! We were having recepetion at the church so need to find somewhere for that, but im happier than I was at least! Vicar most appologetic said she hadnt slept, going to lend me her Gazebo for drinks afterwards too.
Just need to find a nice venue for buffet for 60, from 1600-1930 with a Bar and pref an outside bit in Hebden Bridge West Yorks now.... if anyone knows anywhere let me know!
Oh on a jolly MSE note - the other couple are having the bell ringers too so we are doing a deal to get them cheaper, so some result at least.0 -
Blimey - you are remarkably calm....!! Well done for sorting it out though - and good deal with the bells....!!

I'm not far from Hebden bridge. Do you want to stay close to the church?0

How about here? Might be big enough if you had 2 rooms or room + tea garden?

Love Hebden Bridge, haven't been for a good few years, used to live over that way, might have to have a trip there in the summer!
Hope you find somewhere you like x"Normal is not something to aspire to - it is something to get away from" - Jodie Foster0 -

What a shame that this has happened, but you are taking it so well. Well done for staying so calm. It seems that the vicar has apologised wholeheartedly and for me that would mean an awful lot. Mistakes happen and there is not a whole lot anyone can do about it now but make the best out of a difficult situation but I am glad that it is still the venue of your dreams so at least you can have the ceremony there (will she give you any sort of discount?)
I am nowhere near so cannot give any suggestions but I really hope you find somewhere nice. Definitely get cracking with it straight away, I am sure some venues will still be available - did you ask the vicar for any suggestions?
Good luck and I would be interested to know if you find somewhere for July.0 -
I know Hebden Bridge is a great night out- that's about it I'm afraid. Tod is pretty groovy too. All I know is that there is a great Rush-bearing weekend first weekend in September. Unfortunately I haven't been to any wedding-type venues to help, but you will most certainly have some lovely pictures!0
