Check this for wedding stress

Dearie dearie me! What a gruesome day, im suprisingly calm too. Getting married in 6 months - church, transport, eve stuff, accom, annual leave at work, dress ect all sorted.

Got in touch with the vicar today and she said that she had me down for wedding Sat 24th July......not Sat 21st Aug. :eek:

There is another wedding on that/my date and I could hear the panic in her voice, yikes! I have to go see her Sat, am not expecting good news. Sadly its not as easy as finding a new venue for ceremony as we had the church & grounds booked for whole afternoon reception - food, wine, guitars playing.

I know 200% its not a typo by me as the 24th July is my 30th Birthday and would never have booked it for the same day, even in discussion / error. So shall see what Saturday brings I reckon, and one of my bridesmaids hates her dress and the evening recpetion place havnt replied to two of my emails. Jeepers.

Ive fallen off my wedding diet wagon big style - having some cheese and some organic cider, oh an numerous cigarettes. Rubbish.

Oh My!!
Just wait for Saturday though - by then, the vicar will have spoken to the other couple and maybe she has just written the weddings in the wrong dates, and all will be well....

Don't panic just yet...but enjoy that cider (although not the fags!!) xx

Yes indeed, Im very calm actually - nowt I can do at the moment anyway. If it has all been messed up hoping that at least registry office in Halifax will be available if she cant sort it.

Oh gawd!! That does sound like a bit of a nightmare. I agree with Dizzie though, wait until what she says on Saturday. There may be some sort of alternative. How did you confirm your date with church? Was it in writing or over the phone etc?

Will do - Confirmed via email and have reply confirming it too so all good! Just makes me anxious as to if they cant even get the day right.....

Oh gawd, what a 'mare!! Well Vicar will have to sort it out, you have conformation and that is 'your' date. Many churchs have more than one wedding at day, so it could be she is muddled in her head to timings?? (she says fingers crossed)

Must have been the subconscious part of my brain yeah! Not a phrase I use that often as it happens.

Ditabombita - Its good that you have at least have written confirmation, I hope there is some way around it. I am not surprised it makes you anxious, hopefully she has just confused your date with the other brides. Its always a possibility. I think people are human and can make a mistake but hopefully she will do her utmost to rectify this in your favour.

Hi Dita - oh poor you what a mare !! Hope it gets sorted out and you do get to marry on my birthday - 21st Aug !! Here I am stressing about shoes, hair and make-up, so you have made me realise they are details and at least we have the venues sorted. I hope !! jj
