No Sound!!!

Doing a Google search on "ATI HDMI audio windows 7" it seems there can be some issues setting it up. There is a big thread on HDMI audio on these cards here - http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1029603

A lot of the info I've found states you have to download a driver from Realtek to get it to work here http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false

I've now downloaded all the drivers recommended, when I try to configure the speakers and click on the rear left, sound comes through the front left, and the rear right comes out of the front right but it's ONLY when I try to configure things. Playing movies, etc still doesn't give me any sound.

So it seems like all the cables, etc are working fine or nothing would come through?

How are you configuring it? Which device have you set to your default playback device in control panel/sound?

I'm just going through the normal route of right clicking on the volume options bottom right of the monitor, or going through Control Panel / Sounds. I've changed the default between speakers, HD Audio device and HDMI cable but nothing seems to be working

Have you tried looking at the options under 'configure' and 'properties' in control panel/sound? The options will be different for each device.
