TalkTalk Marketing Calls via BB Speedchecker

Scho

Just wanted to let others know that if you pop your home phone number and postcode into the TalkTalk speed checker on their website then be prepared for some Marketing calls.
I had a few missed calls from some dodgy number I found out was associated with them, I then got a call from them last night and the guy basically asked about my enquiries in their broadband and that they got my number off the speedchecker.
Sadly, after the bloke was trying to be nice from the start, as soon as I said my O2 BB had just been activated he dropped the call in an instant with nothing more than a grumble! Such a shame. :rotfl:
Loving O2 though. :T

There is a warning on there page about it;
" When you check broadband availability you will be called by TalkTalk on the number above to discuss your broadband requirements "
Best not to use it.0 -
Ah yes, missed that. But wanted to pop a note on the forum for anyone else who is obviously as blind as me!0

I spotted it. Just after I had hit the button to speedcheck. Sigh.0

It's not af free service. It clearly tells you this.
Take responsibilty or use your neighbour's (who still has your lawn mower from 2 summers ago) phone number or the local police station's0
