Sky/Phone/Broadband...what to do

Hoping someone can help me here as I'm abit clueless about this at the moment!
I moved house last Monday and have arranged for Sky to come out on Wednesday to transfer my account from my old address to my new one and set up my multiroom and + box at the new place. While on the phone to Sky I also said that I would also like sky to operate my phone and broadband. The previous owner of the property had all 3 (TV, phone, broadband) with Sky before so presumed I could just take over his line etc. They have told me that I cant take over the line and will need to speak to BT. BT have said that they have not heard from the previous owner (although he has given notice to Sky) and cannot transfer his line to me.
What do I do? Do I have to pay for BT to install a new line? If I do this then I cant move the line to Sky as I will be in a contract with BT?

Did Bt say if there was going to be a charge for a new line? If not then i would go with Bt as Sky from 29th March will be completely taking over lines and you will have no choice but to use them for landline and broadband. If you keep BT line then at least you will still have the choice who to use for broadband

Thanks for that Freez.
BT havent confirmed, they have said that there is a line there at the moment but I cant use it. I will speak to them again and she if I can shed any more light on it0 -
Remember, it's one way street when it comes to moving your telephone line to $ky: see more about LLU in the Home Phones section.
Make sure you compare the overall costs of a package over the minimum rental period, not the headline-grabbing 'free' months, to see if keeping phone and broadband separate from digital satellite represents better value.RIP independent MSE.
