The best advice I can give is take it back and get a refund. With the money you've now saved you can buy a decent roller and still have a lot left for something else. An ordinary roller is quicker and easier.
Incidentally there's nothing "special" about the Paintpod paint. Its just watered down to make it flow better through the tubes.

I have seen threads on here that mention watering down the paint - have to get the consistency 'just right' I think, but this will probably void the warranty. I imagine you'd still need one of the original paintpots to fit it to?0

As mentioned, take back and get your roller out! Trust.0

It cant be that bad can it. What experances have you all had with it then to rate it so bad.0

I recommend one of these..http://www.amazon.co.uk/Paint-SMD00484-Runner-Roller/dp/B000RZB6P6 or http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Paint-Wizard-Pro-2-Roller-Set-SPECIAL-OFFER_W0QQitemZ120524055883QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_DIY_Material_Paint_Varnish_MJ?hash=item1c0fcb254b
I was very sceptical until someone lent me one.. works really well and there was no need for me to thin the paint.. you just need to roll on a surface (I used a plastic bag) until paint starts to show..minimal splashes unlike a normal roller.
You will need a small roller for edging etc but really this item defo gets the job done.
Easy to clean and reuse.0 -

there seem to be a lot of users who have given it a 1 star rating -
if your are going to get a roller try this -http:///www.decoratingdirect.co.uk/viewprod/r/RODKF181/- plus a tray and a decent medium pile sleeve all available from above site0 -
Its not that its bad its that it is an expensive gimmick! By the time you've set the thing up, used it for one coat, cleaned it all out at the end you could have put three coats of paint up using a traditional roller and been in the pub for a couple of hours. You can't work the paint was well as with a roller and the supplied sleeve has a pile which is a bit too long for smooth walls. In summary its just too expensive for the DIYer and far too DIY for a pro. Use your cash more productively I say.studentgirl wrote: »It cant be that bad can it. And the colours are limited and it's rubbish.
Take it back!0 -
I've played with the paint pod when I used to work in B&Q and i was pleasantly surprised as to how well it worked little or no splatter. Easy to refill and clean.
But the price is horrific coupled with the lack of colour I agree as to not buy one. No your not meant to use normally pain too thick.0 -
I bought a small one when on offer for £10 at B&Q and with £2 back from Quidco I thought it was worth a punt but haven't tried using it yet so an interesting thread.0
