You have such a lot going on no wonder you're finding things a little difficult. Could you ease back on the OP's to save getting into more CC debt?

The extension work sounds like it is going well, that in itself is stressful especially as it is you and DH doing the work.

I hope your cat gets better soon aswell.

Thanks Cath, I guess we have until march to pay the other one to decide, its so hard cutting back on the mortgage as I was hoping to see in the new year with the mortgage balance starting with a 3. its so hard to decide, I am very addicted to this challenge, but I feel if i let it slip a bit it could snowball. I feel if we continue with the extension- without credit cards and paid off our other debt that I could end up not paying anything off at all. I'm so extreme its annoying, this month we thought we would pay less on the credit card and ended up paying nothing (except minimum payments). I think when this is all done we are going to need to spend a fortune on random things like our microwave and kettle are broken, these kind of things have gone by the way-side. I have been rubbish with keeping up with the diary lately as there is just so much going on. My cat seems a bit better tonight, i hope he keeps getting better, I think this is the main thing that is worrying me, I feel if he sorts his-little-self-out a big weight will be lifted and hopefully the long weekend will be relaxing :)

Started sorting out the home insurance but our building work seems to make it more complicated!!

My signature is getting too long so I have had to edit it a bit, probably more next time! Well It now says 12months to mortgage free...time will tell not quite sure where I am with it all at the mo!!

Well this weeks shop was £45 courtesy of the asda £5 voucher, however we didn't have dog food and found ourself in sainsbury which was another £20-30 i lost count in all honesty. We had our daughter third birthday party yesterday although her birthday is tomorrow. We made the cake, will attach a piccie later. This always ends up expensive, we had to go shopping twice to get more bits for cake and party food, I have lost count of the cost tbh. My husband and I need to have a good sit down and look at the money. We have paid less off the mortgage this month to allow us to tackle the credit card more. Our priority no matter what is to clear or at least shift the debt (in a non interest way) to allow this card to be cleared. Hopefully this month the card in question will be at about 3k. We will stop using it too SOON! After that our next credit card will last until october, I can just imagine that we will have to stop payments off the mortgage to clear this when we are dangerously close to the end of this challenge!! We also need to get the stuff to continue with the build. We need to get to first floor before xmas then we will break from it until my husband has done his studying and it is a bit warmer, maybe spring, del see, were not very good and having time off of it!

We have the dentist today ££. I have also had a house insurance dilemma. Our renewal was £285 so I rang up to cancel and got offered £230 and told then all about the building. I did other quotes and can get £210-£220 then £30 cash back on top of that, but with relatively small companies. I was going to go for the latter, then I decided the other day in bed that I might stick with tescos what with cash back not being guaranteed (plus my last lots tracking at 0..) and the recession imagine if the company went bust?? I might risk it with a car but not the house. So gonna stick with telcos, least I got a £50 reduction with a phone call.

Been so busy this weekend have just had a major survey catch up session! I am hoping to get an emergency top up of vouchers to help out with xmas purchases...fingers crossed, not sure I will mange it or not, I have something in mind for my sister so it depends if I can reach my target.

Excited about today have some xmas films and a witch dress for my little daughter, hopefully the little witch will be allowed in the dentists chair for the first time! My husband has suggested a lakeside trip today which is dangerous to say the least. I really want to enjoy the next two days tho (we are off) as I love this time of year so we will discuss money plan imminently but I think a 2012 plan is most appropriate so we can have a better idea of when we will indeed be MF even if not credit card free!

I wonder if anyone else is adding to their list of compromised appliances due to not wanting to replace things? We now have broken freezer drawer, a kettle that has to be opened with a spoon and a non functional integrated microwave with a normal cheap one on the top! Like to add tho thanks to having our daughters birthday party that downstairs of the house is sparkly clean for now and that makes me happy!!

Will try and get the cake up later......

eeeeek, above is the famous cake, about 13-14hours to make and about 2 to dismantle :)

Wow what a fantastic long weekend. Down to £41k now. £404 off todays balance with the normal payment, only £53 interest... £1.71 a day!!! So amazing, pretty sure it was £5 something at some point!!!

We had a little party on sunday for our daughter, it was so lovely, then a great halloween yesterday we went out to lakeside and bought a few bits, we got a great big cuddle Lotso bear from toy story 1/2 price in the disney store (£20) I reluctantly handed it over to my daughter but it is so cuddly!! We got some candles and bits too. Today I got up early (4 days off and no lay in!!) and made cakes for the preschool, took our daughter and then took her out for a princess lunch/ dinner and we treated my parents so that was about £55. She got to wear her dress we bought which is lovely and we asked the restaurant to put candles in her dessert and they did the thing when the music came on when everyone sings and her little face was all surprised, missed it with the video but got a photo tho it wasn't perfect as it caught us by surprise! We got her a princess bauble as well. I am so impressed with her preschool they got her a card and present and we saw a scrap book they are making for her its so amazing showing her doing her projects etc, I am so proud. We've got so many presents bought for her which are lovely from family etc, I need to do some sorting out now!! Also video editing!! Seem to be getting lots of surveys too and keen to accumulate them for xmas vouchers- still time!! We need to decide whether to save our daughters cash for her birthday or build her a wendy house for the garden...decisions decisions!!

Need to finalise building plans this week and looks like next weekend will be a wet one!! Will update when I can, I'm so dumb I seem to have lost our asda receipt so thats £5 down the drain grrr, don't thunk will be paying any more off now this month!!
