Great news that your cat is on the mend, I could tell how worried you were. Sorry to hear the you had no choice but to hand in your notice at work, it was a big decision to make but ultimately family have to come first. It's good that you possibly have a job lined up though and I know loads of people that work nights. Everyone who does them at work does so due to family commitments (the enhanced pay is also nice aswell). I'm sure everything will work out for you.June 2025 - part 1 - £19,145 part 2 - £21,973 Total - £41,118 29 months to go!0

I wanted to update that I have joined a few agencies and am hoping to get some night work to start straight after I leave my job, the date is yet to be confirmed. I have had to sort out some insurances and it looks like I have to work under an umbrella company which quite honestly is a different language to me but it seems that is the best way to do it for something temporary. It looks like it is going to be between £700-900 extra a month so I am quite excited about that. Such a big if but if that worked out then I might try and do a year and we could have a lovely holiday in december 2013 to celebrate our 5th anniversary and then try for a baby so things could happen a couple of months sooner.
My boss has requested for me to train up my replacement which is good as it maintains a good relationship so hopefully a good reference, after all this as well he said i could work part time!! At the moment I am going to tray and stand on my own two feet and get out and see what I can achieve, I'm never going to earn more there!!
On a different subject I am trailing some deodorant this week and doing a food diary so should get some vouchers
Hoping by next week will have some work planned. Still going to do the credit cards first but think if this did work the mortgage could be done quicker...dont want to count my chickens tho!!:TMortgage November 2003 was £135k, but thanks to this website on 28/08/12 we became MORTGAGE FREE!

Grrr I think I was counting my chickens yesterday as it seems despite enquiring about the jobs and then being given extra info etc that the jobs had been taken a couple of weeks ago!! So I am feeling a bit downtrodden now!!! They have been sending me lots of jobs but they are all so far less suitable for me than the one I've just quit so I guess it was a shame I ever got my hopes up now. I need to get to the place where i was initially when I was just happy to be getting away! I guess I got up my hopes about finishing the challenge and so I feel a bit annoyed with myself. I guess its not even been a week yet so I still have a while ....if i get a few months off I will just have to try and enjoy it!!
Hopefully I'll will update with something positive soon!!Mortgage November 2003 was £135k, but thanks to this website on 28/08/12 we became MORTGAGE FREE!

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!
Worst case scenario: you don't find a new suitable job for a while. You can survive financially but cannot pay mortgage off as early as you wanted. It is still paid off years and years early compared to original term, you can still afford a second (and third) child and most of all YOU HAVE YOUR SANITY!!!!!
Best case scenario: exactly the right job is just around the corner.
Either way you are on your way to the life you want and happinessWeight loss: Start weight: 80kg; Current Weight: 77kg; Target weight: 55kg0 -
Hello,
Just popping in to say that nothing can replace time with your children when they are small. You have done exactly the right thing, good luck,
SquirrelPaid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -

Well I am ok now
feeling a bit better now. It has been a hard week. I have learned about umbrella companies and got in the middle of some agency battles and it was generally stressful. The other day I was really upset and felt like a complete failure and I felt like I must have been drugged as I literally woke up and realized I had handed in my notice without getting another job and I couldn't believe I had consciously made that decision!! No walking out head held high to start my mortgage free life as a lady of leisure oh no it just seemed like I had chucked away my mortgage free dreams forgetting that we are half way through an extension and still have credit cards etc to pay off and no hope of a holiday ever!! Anyway I am better now.
I decided to do some digging around for a job myself and went back to a company I have done some odd shifts for previously and I have set up 5 shifts over new year- now I had booked this time off so I am slightly gutted to ruin my longest break of the year but I could soon be entering the longest break of my life so I thought as these shifts are fairly abundant I would do some as a buffer, i won't get paid for them until the end of january so so far I have a salary for january of £1270.50 (-tax) my current prior to tax salary is £3300 a month so I need to aim for this... though yep u guess it of course I am going to try and go slightly higher! I am feeling better- I am going to try and get work to work for me rather than ruining my life. i am going to try and get 3 days a week and in half term maybe work full time to make up for the rest, i will do the odd night or initially I might do some sundays grrrrr to make up the extra. I am quite liking that I am now in control of my earnings rather than being on an escalator I can't get off and having to wait a set time for the mortgage to be paid. I think its going to be better to use an umbrella company for the purpose of expenses, but I still don't understand it fully.
So my last day at work is 22 dec and I get paid til the end of the year so 2 pay-packets sorted and over a third of january sorted so definately feeling betterdespite it being payday friday I have not been that excited because of the uncertainty but I am starting to get that way now as we will definitely go to £30k something this month- likely £39k something, we are seriously tackling the credit card the next 2 months so the mortgage will be forgotten a bit but hopefully in the new year I will challenge my self to get it down on target. So I have to question whether to keep on with my signature??? Wel I have decided I am going to as I feel like I will still do it this year even if slightly later.
As for other stuff, the vet bill is now fully paid, my cat is doing great he should be able to go back to normal later in the week (in with his bros). We have been doing a bit of ebaying. we discovered that you can buy certain toys 3 for 2 and sell them on ebay for a bit more than they are worth so we have made about £35 this week also our £2.3k investment returned £23 this week, not a lot yet but a start!
On the food front we spent about £55 in sainsburys but that involved some xmas gift biscuits so really only about £45 which I class as good now. On the survey front I seem to be doing loads but not my in the way of vouchers is coming my way though I have received another food diary week so I will be getting £30 from tns next week which I am pretty happy with
So generally good, will update everything on friday feeling better now will be lovely to finish paying that credit card tooMortgage November 2003 was £135k, but thanks to this website on 28/08/12 we became MORTGAGE FREE!
