Phone for elderly grandad

I am looking for a phone that my grandad can use. It needs to have very little on it and and emergency facility.

Now I know there are a few available (ie DORO) but the major problem is that he wants to go and see it first. He refuses to let me buy it online and then send it back if he doesn't like it. He insists that he will not let a company dictate how he should buy things and the country is going to pot..... anyway Maplins and Currys sell a DORO phone but only sell it online! Maplins do sell a big button phone in store but doesn't have an emergency button.

Has anyone seen any in shops at all? He is near Milton Keynes and I'm St Albans

Doro phone should be available at some new format/larger currys stores - no idea about Maplin, as you might guess!

Biggest one's in Birmingham, but there are a couple around london. If I was working today, I'd be able to check for you!
    Squirrel!
If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

I spoke to someone and they said that Watford sometimes stocks them but haven't got any now :-(

Bring him on a long shopping trip, walking from shop to shop in the cold asking for such a phone.
After a few hours he may give in at let you order it on line.:D

There are some YouTube demos of Doro phones:

I bought a Doro 345 for my Mother and she is very happy with it, if you have any questions please ask.

Lol was thinking of that but his opinion is if they don't sell it in shops then I just wont have one. He has already been in to loads of phone shops so far and hasn't come up with anything.

It doesnt have energency facility but does have 3 one touch memory buttons so he can program my nans number, my dads etc. Am please he has got one. Have told him he has to keep it on all the time... not sure if he will do as he is told though. Thanks for all your help

  • Is there a Nokia equivalent, i.e. with large keys, large display and basic features?
