What do you take for a headache? Something like Anadin or a cheaper one?

500mg of Paracetamol is just that. A brand name on the box makes no difference......0

I find out the ingredients of the branded medication, then buy the cheapest generic equivalent
no point in paying extra for advertising & packaging0 -
I always buy shops own. I used to buy branded ones years ago but then did a pack to pack comparison with the shops own brands and found they had exactly the same ingredients! One day Rodney we'll be millionaires£2020 in 2020 - Running Total £170

Always the own brand.
The branded ones sometimes are formulated to dissolve more quickly and may be easier to swallow etc but I have never noticed any worthwhile difference.0 -
I just buy the cheapest own brand paracetemol...they do take longer to absorb but when you are paying pennies as opposed to pounds it doesnt matter.....own brand cold remedies seem to work better for me too rather than the named brands.**"Yesterday is gone. I always buy generic, unless it's something that is still under licence and there is no generic available. If you are unsure whether the formulation is exactly same you can just compare the ingredients lists. It always amazes me when I see paying a small fortune for bog-standard paracetamol that just happens to have a brand-name on the box.0

Just ask the pharmacist. No need to compare the ingredients yourself and risk missing something vital.
Own brand every time for me. Though I'll often pay an extra 2p or so to get caplets rather than tablets.0 -
Someone did once buy me own brand ones and they worked fine. Don't buy headache tablets, as dad has boxes of them on prescription.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

I always buy own brand pain killers. I take ibuprofen and have found that shop/supermarkets own works just the same as nurofen. Don't be conned by the attractive packaging/brand name:heartsmil Proud Weight Watcher :heartsmilStart Weight: 15st 13lb Current Weight: 10st 5lbTotal Loss to Date: 5st 8lb- - -Current 2011 Goal: Lose 8lb by 25th DecemberLoss This Week: -3 Total Loss 2011: -30

Same as other posters, own brand everytime. If in doubt ask the pharmacist, and they can give you specific advice.
