Contract and PAC Code
I have been with vodafone for I'd say around 4 or five years.
I have 5 months remaining on my contract but my phone had packed up and i have been offered a better deal else where. I was thinkning of dropping my tariff to the lowest available, paying it off and then getting my PAC code to transfer my number to another network.
I called Vodafone who stated there is no pproblem in paying off the contract but they were unwilling to gove me a PAC code as they terminate the number when the contract is cancelled?
Is there any truth in this or is it just a tactic to keep my custom as they know I want to keep my existing number? Have I any right to that number as I have been paying for it for this length of time?
Any help would be appreciated before I call them back as I'm not happy:mad:

If you get a PAC code, then your contract isn't terminated 'til you use it.
So if you pay off your contract before getting the PAC code then they might be telling the truth.0 -
When you use the PAC code the contract ends, if it expires, then the contract carrys on.
When you give 30 days notice to cancel (and that expires) the contract ends.
They will charge you the initial contract price per month x months left, even if you drop down then leave.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
