No, if it's unlocked the SIM will be fine.

If you want to get any Virgin customizations off it, that's when you need to de-brand.
  • Thanks for reply Rusty !!

still, Im bit confused here.I know i'll be able to make a calls & txt coz phone is unlocked, and I can use different sim cards,
but according to some post on few forums I might have problems with connecting with internet ( on Vodafone ) because my phone will have Virgin firmvare and settings.

I don't mind the Virgin logo at start of my phone and etc if that's what you call "customizations".

    I can get Vigrin NOKIA E63 ‘Good as New’ 6months warraty for £95 + unlocking by Virgin £15 + de-branding (let's say £15 ??) = £125

when new NOKIA, unlocked , debranded from amazon with 2y warranty is £159

Yes the logos etc are what I mean by customizations, the web settings are as changeable as your phone book.
  • so what's the point of de-branding the phone ??

why so many people are doing such a fuss about it , only to get rid of the logos and etc ???

I have an e71 and its full of '3' rubbish and I am now on Vodafone, the problem is that it adds many things that I do not want such as email settings, ports of access etc. thats why I am going to debrand.

Get's rid of logos, allows use of some things that the provider doesn't allow, updated firmware quicker etc

Because branded firmware can be up to a good few versions of firmware behind the generic phones firmware which could contain bug fixes and new features.

Downside is that technically it voids your warranty though.

Good point Rusty, but I assume most people are out of contract when doing this.

I don’t entirely agree with that, coz you can buy this phone on PAYG from 3 and Virgin with 12months warranty, and if you want to use it with other network debranding will void your warranty.
