Cancelling Vodafone contract within 7 days -
I bought a sim only contract from Vodafone - however I would like to cancel but I contacted Vodafone to tell them that I want to cancel but the customer rep told me that I am outside the "7 day returns" policy.
I tried to explain to him that according to Vodafone terms and conditions: you can end your agreement within 7 working days of receipt of this email (so not including weekends or bank holidays).
Is this the sort of customer service that Vodafone provide to its customers? By deceiving the customer. Can anybody tell me how I can cancel my contract as my legal right. Thanks

Did you buy it online or in store and when did you buy it?
If in store - the 7 day rule does not apply.0 -
I would phone back and speak to someone else.
Did you receive the phone on 29th? Its touch and go I think - its 7 days on 5th. What it might be is that if they were to have given you a returns number on 5th, there was no way you could have returned it within the 7 days (other than perhaps taking it to a store if they allowed it but obviously that did not happen).
So probably you cannot cancel.0 -

I received the sim card on Monday 1st February - I also received a "Welcome to Vodafone" email where it clearly states :
If your needs alter, you can call us and we'll happily review your new agreement. If for any reason you change your mind, you can end your agreement within 7 working days of receipt of this email (so not including weekends or bank holidays).
So I called Vodafone customer support on Friday 5th February - he told me that it should be okay but his excuse was "online returns department is closed - opens monday" ! Therefore I emailed to cancel - just to make sure - and I received "outside 7 days" message. SO its kinda confusing when you get two different replies!

Only thing you can do is phone back and speak to someone else and point them to the fact that you sent emails and phoned on certain dates - they have proof of both in their records.
If still no joy try commenting on the vodafone forum site - they might look into it a bit more.0
