    Hi,

No i think the landlord is giving them 28 days notice that their lease will not be renewed, then she is going to get collection agencies to chase the money.

Sharkeybabe is it a private let? or was it a council let? i dont imagine anything would be done within 4 weeks if i were to report it to the likes of the council. We have had the close door kicked in by people looking for them and everything, they call taxis from numberous numbers in the close and dont pay. The drivers end up coming knocking on our door, its beyond of joke

Tam, it was a private let through a letting agent. My neighbour was exactly the same as yours, we had broken windows in the close, actually found a needle in our shared garden he was a total idiot.
You could give your local council a call and speak to their ASSIST team and they will be able to help you? What about your other neighbours are they having the same problems?

It's not legal to give a tenant 28 days notice, it's two months coinciding with a rent period. I have found Environmental Health very quick to act in the past.

A 28 day notice would not be valideven if it expires at the end ofthe tenancy period and the tenant can stay.
if the landlord evicts them they will be unlawfully evicting them and at risk of prosecution.
Does your landlord know what he is doing i wonder.

Im not sure what the state is but im sure what the landlord is doing is fine, she issued something before so im assuming this was a section 21/8 whatever would have been suitable i didnt want to ask her..

The company letting them is a multi million pound company with buildings all over the place, im sure she is within the legal laws. Im just wondering really if theres anything i could do to get them out sooner than their ending date

Sounds like some BTL amateur who is being screwed by some chavvers..
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..
