Does anyone know where i can read up on saving money by getting on a flight really late?? Ie just turning up to the airport and going where ever.... or are flights really expensive at this time?? the girlfriend and i are open as to where we want to go on holiday and it should bring abit of further excitment so if anyones got any tips or experiences please share them.

You are more likely to be frustrated than excited. Scheduled and low-cost airlines charge maximum prices for last minute bookings. Charter airlines and package companies do drop the price if they have spare capacity, but you are likely to have more choice and a better price if you book these at least a couple of weeks ahead. Waiting to the very last minute just means that the best deals will have gone and you may well have to pay a tickets on departure surcharge.0
