Pigpen – I think I’m jumping in half way through a story, so apologies for any repeats. But if his name can’t be removed from the mortgage, does that mean he’s tied there forever and ever? If he’s such a KH, when the fixed rate comes to an end, presumably you’ll go onto SVR, does this not then leave you very vulnerable? Does he pay anything towards the mortgage?

He hasn't paid anything towards the mortgage since last May.

I am supposed to be getting housing benefit help with some of the mortgage but they are idiots and in the last 11 months have made 1 payment which is why I need to give them a jolly good kicking this week!

He is tied into the mortgage until our youngest leaves full time education.. be that at 16, 18 or 19.. should have thought about this before hopping into someone elses knickers shouldn't he?!

If he was a grown up we would shift onto another fixed rate in both our names and when OH finds work we can take over the mortgage then.. but he is STILL keeping the bank loan I am absolutely not picking up the financial hardship of the last 20 years just because he stamps his feet. I'm not quite sure what we would do here but I will look into it properly when we are in a financially secure enough place to be able to manage the payments. As he has not paid anything on the mortgage in such a while he is only entitled to 50% of any profit that stood to be made on the day that he left.. which isn't a great deal.. but we shall see where we end up.

  • Morning all :)
I feel a bit less fed up this morning (BF apologised for the spilt can incident when he say how upset I was), but I have a headache today. Really hoping it'll go away if I take something, but it's unlikely :(

Oh no, not bedroom day  Grrr I hate tidying my bedroom - always have since I was a child. Here's my list:

Wednesday ~ Master Bedroom & Landing
    Level 1

    Check smoke alarms are working
Remove bed linen and replace with fresh linen
    Declutter the floordrobe
    Level 2
Dust surfaces & make sure no cobwebs.. make sure to do the bed base.. mine was gross
Vacuum mattress before replacing fresh linen
    15 minutes grotspot clearance
    Level 3
Vacuum floors in bedroom and on landing
Sort one area of clothes or linen storage making sure only what should be in there is, anything that's had it's day or doesn't belong there is removed
Defluff and demuck woodwork... skirtings, window frames, door frames dados, picture rails etc

No chance of me getting all this done today - I can't even just do level 1 cos absolutely everything above needs doing! Am I allowed to save some bits and do them at the weekend instead of tonight?
