Have a look at the Pre from Palm. Going from your current phone to the iPhone will be a tested move. Pre has a qwerty keypad and software updates are done over the air so need to connect to a computer and for example, software updates are done over the air so need to connect to a computer. An exaple of this is Palm are updating the Pre to include video capture and this will be done over the air unlike Apple that left you with a no choice but to buy a new phone if you wanted video capture.
There are many good things coming to the Pre and expect a date for the Palm Pre Plus.
