Tiling on top of tiles is ok
1- as long as its a solid wall
2-Wall is de-greased
3-Tile primer is used
4-Good quality adeshive is used
5-Alow double the time to set, or longer.

When I tiled our kitchen 12 years ago I managed to get one wall just off square, I hated it so much that I bought some more tiles and re-tiled it again over the other tiles. I couldn't face the hassle and mess of taking them all off again. Not my best tiling job I have to admit. But they are still in place after 12 years.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
