    What you are referring to as the hard drive is the base unit. The hard drive is a small box inside the base unit.
    Yes, the ethernet cable is the one from the router to the ethernet port on the back of your PC/base unit.

    o yes forgot to mention

    keep your router away from metal surfaces and cordless phones, such as raiditors and microwaves, they mess arround and degrade the signal, also mobile phones degrade braodband signal(gprs ones)

    Right i have put the cable to the laptop what nxt ?

    id turn off wireless and loginto the router, your login details if default ones could be on the bottom of the router, to login into the router you type something like http://192.168.1.1 (its what i use but my router is different to yours so maybe someone could psot the correct address)

    I did plug this in the laptop then my pc lost all the connection couldnt log on to the internet at all while this was plugged into the laptop, right i have found the http its was underneath, so when im on the page what do i do ? You said turn off the wireless how do i do this ? And log into the router ? Sorry to be sounding thick but im no good at all off this.

  • The default home page for your router is 192.168.0.1
    On the main menu select wireless and change the channel to a number between 1 and 13 (default for that router is probably at 11 at the moment)
