O2 Free sims-user question

Hi,
Hope this is in the right place.....
Yesterday i bought a £10 top up voucher to activate an O2 sim card which i got free (like many people here i guess).
I wanted the 100 free mins and 100 free texts bundle. When i put in my voucher number it informed me that i have the 300 free texts and if i want to change i need to call a number. I did this and it said my tariff would be changed on my anniversary!! Have i got to wait a whole month? Or is there something i could do to start my free mins earlier?

they dont do the 100 mins with the tenner now o2 have been changing the tariffs
