I wasn't given an option to contact the salon myself as the HairGroup would not tell me which one it was in my local area.
When I called to try and chase up with the Hairgroup (in the 2 month lag) there was no reply or I left a message and my call wasn't answered)
As I say perhaps I was just unlucky but I wouldn't risk giving the hair vouchers as gifts - no idea what the other experiences are like.
I agree that I wouldnt give this as a present, although I wouldnt give it as a full priced gift anyways, I like to use my 'normal' hairdressers and know full well they arent affiliated with THG, however I ordered this last time for my mum, and she has always known it is/was free (she appreciates a bargain and was glad I thought of her)
Each to their own I guess....Im booked in to use the make over for one experience on the 7th of March with 2 friends, and I have ordered more of the makeovers for 2 that I will be able to use with other friends. Given the choice I would not waste the fee (p&p) on the hair ones, but think (I await being disprooved lol) the makeover ones are worth it, after all they include a cut and style along with the makeover and photoshoot and you book it directly with the company, who pick up the phone within a couple of mins.
Hope your hair appointment works out to be worth the hassle if you do end up using it :beer:0 -
No there isnt an option to contact the salon directly (I meant how you were asked to contact them after you had sent off the stuff?) however in the other thread I do remember someone mentioning they called round the salons in the postcode given (on the hair group site) and when they found the salon, they were allowed to just book directly and give the voucher then.

You were not asked to contact the salon once you had sent off the portion of the voucher from BuyaGift to the Hairgroup (they would not disclose which salon it would be just first part of the postcode) - the hair group assured me that their appointed salon would be in touch with me within 2 weeks. So a definite don't call us we'll call you
I guess I could have called round every hairdresser in the Brighton postcode to see if they were affliated with HairGroup - probably would have taken me the given 2 months to do this but that's not an approach I would personally take.
As I say I've no experience of the Beauty Makeovers but thought I'd post my Hair experience in case people were dead set on giving as giftssounds like the makeovers are better set up than the Hair cut's so good luck with that!

paintballing-need to buy the paintballs
photoshoots-COULD be persuaded to buy more photos (but imo if you dont want them you dont buy them simple as), £5 postage for the print you choose, £25 refundable booking fee0 -

I had one of these a couple of years ago. Ended up spending £200 on 20 prints....... They are very persuasive.. Went to the Manchester salon and ended up getting a parking ticket for going 2 minutes over my stay!
A very expensive day in the end.
Anyway i have ordered the hair cut and the deluxe photoshoot so i will be prepared to say NO!
Tried to use TCB but i couldnt find the link to the freebies when i went through the TCB site
Thanks for the post!A glitch a day, keeps the doc away0 -

Ive ordered 2 of the deluxe photo shoots, think of it this way, even if you only come away with the free print you have both had your hair cut, styled, had your make up done AND had a fun day out all for less that £1.95!
Well worth it in my books!0 -
